INTERVIEW WITH #1 FAN: SABRINA CARREY
Did you know he was doing a stadium tour this coming fall?
Yes, I did. I can’t go because he is not performing in a stadium near me, but I am saving money for when he returns. I will be seeing him at least once in my life.
Do you own any merchandise?
Yes! I own the multiply green book bag, the plus and multiply CDs, the wristbands, and two shirts. If you see my room it is starting to shift from the orange of his plus album to the green of his multiply.
What do you call yourself as a fan?
I am a Sheerio. He tweeted that he approved of that name for his fans. I used to be Sheeranator but since that comment I have shifted to Sheerio.
What is your fandom all about?
I promote hardcore. Since becoming a fan I have converted many of my fellow friends and roommates into loving him. My phone case has an Ed Sheeran quote on it and I carry it around with me. When people ask about the quote I direct them to Ed Sheeran.
If Ed Sheeran were to walk into the room right now how would you react?
I would ask him if I could have a hug and take a picture. I’m not a crazy fan. I know they are humans like you and I so I would treat him like anyone else. I would love to have a conversation one day and get to know him. The real him not just the star he is now.
How well do you feel you know him?
I know him enough. I did a bit of stalking and found out his full name and birthday and general information. I don’t look up things that are too personal because you never know if they are true.
What is you favorite quote from Ed Sheeran?
“The worst things in life come free to us” it’s a line in the son A Team. It struck me the first time I heard it because it is true. Bad things happen without a price but to make good things happen in your life you have to work hard. Everything in life comes at a price except for all the bad the bad things that happen.

What song made you a fan?
To be honest, Give Me Love. I heard it on the vampire diaries one day and I just had to download it. After listening to that song I needed to listen to other songs and that got me hooked.
Why do you like Ed Sheeran?
I love his music. The lyrics make me feel things I can’t describe. He makes you think about the lyrics. It’s not like these pop songs now a day that numb your brain and give you earworms. His music makes you think, it makes you feel.
Have you ever seen him live?
No, not yet. I wish I could have gotten tickets years back when he first came to America to tour. Now the tickets are so expensive and I can’t afford them while working to pay off school.

Do you like that Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are best friends?
I don’t if they are or not. I like them both but I like Ed Sheeran’s music more. He is super talented.
Would you ever write fanfiction about Ed Sheeran?
No. I don’t like fanfiction because it seems like the writers of those pieces always have hope that those stories will become a reality when we all know it won’t. They usually get sexual with their idol and I wouldn’t want to do something like that for Ed. I wouldn’t like anyone to do that to me. It’s all about respect and I respect him enough not to make fanfiction about him.
If you could have a day with Ed what would it be like?
I would ask him what his favorite thing to do is and do it. Then we would eat about eight times that day and finish the night by getting drunk and dancing. Or we could stay in and have a Game of Thrones marathon and then go out to a bar.
What would you be willing to do to meet Ed Sheeran?
To be honest I would do nearly everything. My limit would probably be doing anything sexual or degrading but other than that I would do a lot.
